BASEER A. QAZI
baseerqazi@gmail.com

A. Baseer Qazi joined the PhD stream "The Economics and Policy Studies of Technical Change" in fall of 2007. Having completed the coursework and after successfully defending his PhD proposal he started working on his thesis in fall of 2008. His PhD analyzes spillovers from FDI in the ICT sector of Pakistan. Given the enormous importance of ICT as an engine of growth, and the growing influence of MNCs, his study is expected to benefit policy makers and academicians in understanding how the MNC-Host economy nexus can be turned into a win-win relationship in developing economies for not only transferring state of the art technologies, but also catching up with developed nations.
