Research pakistan :: Industry
Renewable Energy (Industries Focus Issues)

Renewable Energy Society (RESEARCH) commitment is toward a batter future for upcoming generations and our struggle is to timely address the core issues of the growing industry of Renewable Energy which is suffering so far due to the unavailability of the proper forum of dedicated renewable energy workers and researchers with a spiritual commitment to benefit the industry and not confined to personnel interests.

Unfortunately Pakistan is passing through the worst ever energy crises in the country. The average short fall of Electricity is approximately 3000 MW.  Beside Electric short fall the overall situation of fossil fuel is also at its worst. The situation of energy is miserable but the commitment of the government reflects its seriousness, proper understanding and the sensitivity of the problem. The Government of Pakistan with the help of international donors and other associates is trying to minimize the sufferings of the peoples of Pakistan on revolutionary basis.

The efforts of the Government is now improving the overall energy situation in the country but still long way to go to achieve the target of energy dependency in the country. AEDB under the leadership of the CEO Mr.Arif Aluddin has played a vital role to improve the situation in the country especially by exploring the renewable energy resources in the country to minimize national dependence on conventional resource of energy. The midterm renewable energy policy is again a comprehensive document which reflects the seriousness of Government team to introduce renewable resource of energy which will improve the situation of environment friendly energy and to reduce the green house impact in the country.

The joint efforts done by gtz are again another factor which will in the long run improve the energy situation of the country and will influence to improve green energy work force in Pakistan. Ministry of Environment, UNDP, WWF and many other donors are also willing to support Pakistan to improve energy crises. Government now has a chance to prove its credibility and there is need to improve the confidence of private sector to invest in the country for renewable energy crisis.

We at research are committed to convince Government of Pakistan to:

  • Declare and facilitate RE industry as an independent growing industry of Pakistan
  • To implement Midterm Renewable Energy Policy in its practical shape to facilitate the private investors of RE sector
  • Detail compensation plan should be chalked out by the Government of Pakistan to promote this industry in the country
  • Investor’s friendly environment should be created to increase the confidence level of the national and international investor
  • State bank of Pakistan should be advised to set target for banks to micro credit in renewable energy sector
  • Focus issue to educate the community about the positive role and practicality of RE should be governed by the Government
  • RE should be included as subject and especial training institute should be established for environment friendly energy
  • The nominees of RE should be given achievement awards by Government to encourage young researcher to come forward to meet the energy challenges in the country
  • The role of civil society is important to support Government initiatives to promote RE in the country.

The role of civil society should be admired by the Government to create a true private public partnership where the NGOs, CBOs and other component of civil society should be encouraged to promote renewable energy in the country.the role of civil society is vital to create awareness in the county, role of women is most important to bridge the generation gaps for RE Promotion
